Do you often feel weak, lazy and tired and wonder why is it so?
I have compiled a list of the most common reasons for weakness and tiredness and also the practical solution which you implement in your life to feel energetic again.

Before I proceed I would like to explain that if you are feeling tired all the time, you are not alone as “Around 15 percent of women and 10 percent of men regularly feel tired or exhausted in the United States.”

(1) Fresh Air: If you are sitting the whole day in your home and office with closed windows, there is a big possibility that you would feel tired because you are inhaling all the time stale air. I have also written an article on this similar concept that why Bikram yoga is unhealthy.

Breath is a source of energy. As long as we are alive our breath is there, the moment we leave our body, our breath disappear so breath has a direct connection with our source of life or vital pranic energy.

In normal day to day course, we don’t use more than 10 to 20 percent of our lungs breathing capacity so it is important we go out every day at least in the morning ideally in the park and have a 30 min brisk walk and breath deeply which will bring fresh air in our body and hence more energy.

(2)Diet: your diet might lack nutrients.

You need to remember that your diet or food act as a source of energy for your body so if you are feeling tired, often it means that your diet or your food is not nutritions i.e. lacks balanced proportions of nutrients, vitamins, minerals etc.

Deficiency of B12

Vitamin B12 deficiency is one most of the common reason for weakness and tiredness as B12 is not easily available and it is also said that our body can’t produce it on our own. However, there is plenty of B12 available is soy products.

Ideally, it is a good idea to check yourself for B12 deficiency test and if you find your level below the recommended level, I would recommend include soy milk in your diet which is easily available in western countries convenience store such as Tesco, Sainsbury, etc.  Also, should you live in countries where soy products are not easily available or not authentic you can easily cook soy vegetable in your lunch to get enough B12 for your body.

B12 is also available in capsules but I would recommend first preference if you get it from natural products as such as soy and only if it is not available in the natural form you can try tablets such as centrum a-z vitamins. I have tried Centrum tablets and find them to be effective for my father.

I also find the tablets which have B12 only not effective, instead when B12 is along with other vitamins it is easy for our body to accept, this is my personal experience.

Solution:
You must ensure that your daily diet or food must include (a)Fruits (b)Vegetables (c) Protein (d) Whole grain etc.

You must consider to cut down on your sugar intake because sugar can give you a quick rush of energy, but it also wears off fast and might make you feel more tired. Avoid foods and drinks such as Coke or Pepsi, that have lots of added sugar.

Sustain your energy levels by eating three healthy meals per day and avoid processed food as much as you can do.

Drink at least 2 liters of water per day. If you are not drinking enough water, you may feel tired because of dehydration so drinking at least 2liters of water is a must.

(3)Lack of proper sleep in the night: If you stay awake till late night there are high possibilities that you will wake up tired so it is very important to have a proper night sleep.

How poor sleep affect your health

If you find difficult to sleep than you need to introspect the reason as one of the main reason of lack of sleep could be because of coffee or tea which must be avoided before sleep or you won’t be able to sleep because of the stimulating effects of caffeine last for many hours after intake.

So ideally if you need to drink coffee or tea that should be taken by the afternoon.

(4)Excessive stress, anxiety, and depression can drain energy like anything and make you feel weak, shaky and tired all the time.

There could be any reason for excessive stress. It may be related to your Work, often relationship issues or major life events such as someone loved one passed away.

Solution: One should try to identify the cause of your stress as soon as possible and take action to overcome that with the action plan.

Ideally, I would recommend that you must practice gentle yoga and meditation regularly as they help you to reduce the effect of stress, anxiety in your life no matter whatever the reason but unfortunately, I have seen when people go into excessive stress or anxiety or depression the first thing they life is the healthy lifestyle routine which makes them feel down further.

Note: If you are feeling tiredness for a long time along with weight loss or cough or fever, it is better to check for TB Tuberculosis as well just to be on safe side.
