Beetroot is a sweet root vegetable with red color easily available in countries such as India. I will count this vegetable in my superfood list because of the tremendous health benefits it offers. Other superfoods in my list include Papaya, Bhindi or Okra or Lady’s finger, Triphala, Spinach, etc.
Beetroot juice can help lower blood pressure. Nitrates, compounds found in beetroot juice convert into nitric acid in the blood and help relax blood vessels.
Slow the progress of dementia As per one study, nitrates in Beetroot can help increase blood flow to the brain in older people and help slow dementia.
